When winter ice and snow make traveling conditions risky, be sure you have an emergency kit in your vehicle.
Pack a flashlight and batteries, blankets, non-perishable food and bottled water. Add a first aid kit and a phone charger.
Include an ice scraper, shovel, and kitty litter in case your tires get stuck. Jumper cables and reflective triangles or road flares are also recommended.
